Let me begin with this simple truth: I have never received any meaningful help from church people in many of the things I have sought to accomplish. Instead, I have often encountered criticism, negative comments, and judgment rather than encouragement and support. Sadly, this is one of the reasons many young people are turning away from the church. They hear messages about love, fellowship, compassion, and serving one another, yet too often they experience condemnation instead of care. When you are unable—or simply uncomfortable—to meet every expectation placed upon you, you can quickly be labeled as disobedient, rebellious, or uncommitted. The reality is that some churches are quick to ask for support but slow to extend it. They expect people to give continuously, yet fail to invest in the growth, well-being, and struggles of those they serve. Don't Trivialize the Christian  Journey . Nothing about being a devoted Christian is easy. It is destined that as Christians we endure longsuffering and as we suffer we grow in faith because our Lord and God will protect us and provide for our needs daily. Galatians 5:22  tells us “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.” So the next time we stop to point finger or judge. Ask yourself, am I the perfect Christian? better yet as yourself, am I a Christian? Do i understand what it means to become a Christian? Let us not cast judgment or pretend as if being a Christian is easy. It is one of the most difficult life discussions to make knowing that you will be tempted & tried daily. However, the rewards of heaven and the fruits of the spirit makes it all worth it.
